Introduction to the assignment
Task: We are needed to form a group of 6 or 7 people to do this assignment. A weird model was given to us to do some calculation that is calculate the total surface area and volume of the object. The model is formed by a big '8' shape cylinder which has a hole at the center and another '8' ring surrounds the the big '8' cylinder. At last, construct this model in 1:1 scale. My group members are Kristine Yong, Cheah Ee Von, Lai Min Hui, Gennieve Lee Phick Choo, Cheah Wei Hong and I.
Mathematical theories used
The first theory is area of segment which is area confined by circumference and chord. it is equal to subtraction of area of a triangle from a sector.

The second theory is volume of pyramid. In order to get the the actual volume of the object, we have to calculate the volume of the hole at the center which can be defined by formula of volume of pyramid.

1/3 x base area x height

Last but not least, Pythagoras theorem is used in this assignment. It can used when we know the lengths of two sides of a right angled triangle to find the length of third side.

Reflection
When I got the assignment task, I think it is a challenging assignment that made me feel Mathematics is not easy. Then I started to do revision and find solution, I can solve it easily. I learned how to apply the Mathematical theory in this assignment. I think it is useful for my future career which make my work easier.
